Purpose:

Based on the outline of standard performance from the NOCSAE and the requirements outlined in the

project outline the goals of the project are as follows:

● 3000 helmet impacts within an 8 hour work day

● Speed of helmet at impact must be 28 m/s (+/- 5%)

● Force of the helmet against the barrier is to be 60N (+/- 5%)

● The Machine is to be controlled with an OMRON PLC

● The design must meet all OHSA regulations with regards to safety interlocks and enclosures

● The required impact locations are shown below as well as any random location in between the

predetermined locations. The Random location chosen cannot be less than 1 inch from any

standard impact location.
